Construction

My involvement with the Missisquoi Bay Bridge project is officially limited to monitoring turtle activity around the site. But I’ve been involved in the process of building this bridge since at least 1994 through participation on the Missisquoi Bay Bridge (and Causeway Removal) Steering Committee, a citizen group. I helped select the design engineering firm and contributed to the discussion of what this bridge should look like.

So, given the opportunity to go anywhere on site, I decided to document the building of the bridge. While I haven’t poked my nose into every nook and cranny, I have tried to collect images of the everyday activity of the people actually doing the work, the men and women in the field, as well as perspectives that are more aesthetic than engineering focussed.

My current crop of construction photos are located in the Construction photo album.
