In my mind, landscape photography, at its best, makes effective use of light and shadow along with balanced (or sometimes intentionally skewed) composition. I have a good handle on composition. But light and shadow is another matter entirely. To capture highlights, shadows, and mid-tones takes a true artist. I simply haven’t made enough mistakes to really learn what works and doesn’t, but I’m trying. In the meantime, I’m glad to simply record the world around me and share that with you.
